You have a scrapbook and a bunch of supplies…now what? Facing the blank page can be a daunting task, and deciding where to start first can take longer than completing an actual layout. Here are a few great ideas for pages to get you started; just choose one, gather your photos and get to work. You’ll have a book full of memories in no time.
1. Crop a holiday: Holidays packed with inspiration for making scrapbook pages. In many cases you are already taking photos. You may even have the whole family gathered together in one place, dressed up and ready to celebrate. It’s easy to find holiday themed scrapbook items to use, so gather your paper, stickers and other items and get started.
2. Scrap your vacation: Bring along your camera and capture some images from your next vacation. Use the destination to help you select the colors and prints you use for your page. Some destinations also offer unique supplies, so scout out a gift or scrapbook store while you are away, and bring back some great new items for your scrapbook.
3. Crop a person: Choose one of your kids–or one of your ancestors–and build a page around them. Use their favorite colors to create the page, and make a journal entry with basic information about them. Include this in a family scrapbook, or make a special mini book for each member of the family.
4. Don’t forget Rover: A pet can be a great companion–and a great subject for a scrapbook page as well. Look for general supplies featuring your pet’s type or breed, you can choose general themes like “cats” or more specific ones like “Boston Terriers”.
