Family Fun With Scrapbooks

A great way to chronicle family memories is with a scrapbook. Scrapbooks can be put together by the entire family as a fun project, or by one member as a gift for another, and can be done for one event or for many over the course of many years.

If your children are on sports teams, either at school or in the community, a great way to celebrate their accomplishments is with a special scrapbook. Whether it’s dedicated to one season or to several years of the same sport, looking at the scrapbook will bring back great memories every time it’s opened. Team pictures, newspaper clippings, and an autograph page for team members to sign are all great ways to fill out the book.

Family trips are another scrapbook-friendly project. Pages can be decorated with postcards and pictures, and each family member can scrapbooking-familywrite a diary page that can be displayed. Little bonuses including maps and brochures to the sights seen on the vacation can be sprinkled throughout the book, and adding extras like car and plane stickers can bring a sense of fun to the book.

A third scrapbook project to create with your family is a scrapbook around one particular holiday. If you go all-out for Halloween, take pictures of your decorations and costumes every year. After several years, you’ll have a wonderful trip down memory lane. If you write Christmas letters for your family every December, add a family picture to each letter and get the collection spiral bound. You’ll have a lovely book of family memories when it’s finished.
