Find Free Embellishments

Free is the best bargain there is, so don’t forget to take a good look around your home for suitable scrapbook embellishments before you even think about going shopping.  Here are just a few of the many items you could easily use in your scrapbook layout:

•Buttons from old clothes
•Ribbons and bows
•Beads and charms from broken costume jewelry
•Wrapping paper scraps
•Greeting cards
•Paint chips

Let’s take a look at buttons…                                                                 buttons

I think many of us have boxes or jars of odd buttons…
and I recently came across great ideas to use them in our scrapbooking!

Buttons are so fun, easy to use, and available in many sizes, shapes, and colors.  And they can literally be used on everything-layouts, cards, tags, etc.  Here are some of the ways to use buttons, but the possibilities are endless!

•Use them instead of brads.
•Put them in the center of flowers.
•Use them for the eyes on stamped images.
•Use them as an accent on top of chipboard.
•Place them sporadically around your creation.
•Use them on tags.
•Embellish the corner of a photo with several buttons.
•Create a border on a card or layout.
•Layer smaller buttons on top of larger buttons.
•Use them as a fun accent anywhere!

There are two main adhesives to use for adhering buttons:
•Ranger Ink Glossy Accents
•Glue Dots (both the mini and regular size)
If you haven’t tried either of these, I highly recommend them!

•Use your imagination

And have fun!
