Pros and Cons – Digital Scrapbooking vs. Scrapbooking

There are many benefits of Digital Scrapbooking…here are some of them…

Nothing is glued down. You can fix all mistakes with an undo button and never ruin a picture by cropping it too small again.

All of your digital Scrapbooking supplies are on your computer. They are not taking up space in your living room or on your kitchen table.

Another advantage is that you can scan things like placques and awards to add to your album.

You can make as many copies of your layouts as you wish and share them with family and friends.

You can share your pages to family through email and on personal web pages.

Once you’ve learned how to scrap the digital way, it will take you less time to accomplish layouts and albums.

You can re-use your supplies over and over again!

You can save you pages and preserve them forever in a digital format.

You’ve seen all the Pros…now for a Con.

I think one of the biggest pleasures of Scrapbooking is the tactile pleasure of handling the materials, trimming, pasting, and arranging.  You can use a variety of things for embellishments … buttons, fabric, ribbons and much more.  There is joy in touching all of the materials instead of just clicking a mouse and staring a monitor.  And there is a way to share your scrapbook made in the traditional way,  that is to scan and print each page that you’ve created.
